"It's like wanting a new puppy"

Kristen Chenoweth, Broadway actress, is adopted, and she is helping to publicize domestic adoption.  That's great.  But she seems to be doing it by dissing international adoption:

While I appreciate so many people going abroad and adopting, and I understand – it’s like wanting a new puppy – there are so many children here that just need the unconditional love and support of a parent,” Chenoweth, who recently partnered with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to help raise awareness on the issue, told Pop Tarts.
Or is she dissing all adoption?  It's like wanting a new puppy?!

I think her intentions may have been to call attention to domestic adoption, but her lack of understanding of both systems helped her to disrespect them both.

She's been in trouble for mis-talking about adoption before. Someone asked her about having kids and she said something about if she waited too long that she'd just go to China and pick up a baby.

*snort* Yeah, like that's so easy... does she think waiting over four years is waiting too long?

The adoption industry found an adoptee who is lost deep in the fog to be their spokesperson. Wow, imagine that.

Hey, Kristin...Does your birth certificate list your adoptive parents as your biological parents? You are supporting an industry that erases the identities of children so that they can be sold for profit as "blank slates". You support that? Have the unicorns been fed in the land of dilusion? I bet the rainbows and butterflies are pretty, too.
