Birds of a Feather

Our after-camp/after-dinner girl bonding activity this evening was getting feather extensions.  See that scrap of blue to the right of Maya's face?  That's what all the fuss was about!

You should have seen the faces of the stylists when we descended on them 45 minutes before closing time with 10 kids.  I think they have visions of having to cut all those heads before they could go home!  They were pretty relieved that it was ONLY feather extensions! A few of the girls also got shampoos, which is quite luxurious to them.

Then each girl went "under the pliers" to have to feather crimped onto their hair.

Of course, there had to be a phalanx of observers for each girl, too!
And as each girl's feather was complete, they got to join the line of primpers at the mirror.

Tomorrow is the last day of camp, and the girls are pleased that they will be sporting matching feather extensions for the closing ceremony!

Moving on from webkins to silly bands to feather extensions... the life of little girls…I can only imagine what is next! They look like they are having a blast!
