The envelope, please. . . .

Remember the speech contest at Chinese School in November? My little darlings won prizes, announced at the open house Saturday.

Maya won first place in her class. Interestingly, the win, place and show were all Chinese adoptees who do not speak Chinese at home.

Zoe won second place in her class. She's the only girl, only adoptee, and only non-native speaker in the class. (The boys tied for third place includes the principal's son!).

The girls were very proud of themselves, as they well should be!
