Grown in My Heart's new adoption carnival asks for original poems about adoption. Here's Zoe's entry:
Whole Heart
There is a hole in my heart.
I can't fill it in.
My heart is full of love, family & friends.
But there is still a hole.
The hole inside my heart is sadness & worry.
My birth parents would fill in the hole.
If I knew, my heart would be whole.
Thank you for sharing your feelings Zoe, I hope someday that hole will be filled in or at least so small it won't be always visible.
ReplyDeleteI hope your heart will one day be wholly filled Zoe!
ReplyDeleteAs a birthmom, its hurts my heart to hear that you do not feel whole, but can truly understand as I have a hole in my heart too. Even with all the family and friends and the love they pour on me.
You are a special and very loved girl!
At the beginning of this century, I started to read and think a lot about "holes in hearts" like the ones mentioned in Zoe's poem.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome too!
ReplyDeleteZoe, love will eventually fill the hole in your heart. It will never be entirely gone but it will stop hurting. Promise!!!
