I am mad at her parents for not taking care of the admnistrative paperwork to ensure that she had her U.S. citizenship.

I adopted older children and the transition was extremely hard. I often wanted to send them back and at one point I thought I might. Yet I also knew that I had to do all the paperwork to ensure that they could always stay here, since this was their new home. So I readopted them, got them their citizenship paer and recently their U.S. passport.

As we got to know each other and I learned ot love them, the transition became easier and there is no way they are going anywhere. I am satistfied that I've done my duty as a parent and even if I die tomorrow, my children will always be able to stay here b/c I've taken care of the important thing.

Elena deserved that. She has been in this country since she was 9. Her former parents knew she came from a troubled background. They were the adults, she was a child.

I hope she wil be able to stand on her feet soon.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
